Blaine

Results of new scans, when compared to old scans:

Normal; no change. Radiology center extremely apologetic for the wait and the scare late last week. (whew)

Results of first appointment with new pain management specialist, who is actually NOT a pain management specialist, but is actually an internist who does pain management on the side, but who is the only person our insurance says he can see:

Disastrous. Nightmare of epic proportion. Awful. Frustrating. Hate-inducing. Do you need any more?

Most of what we do where I work is pain management. Most of our Dr.'s are pain management. I wonder if you could use any of them.

It sounds as though the pain management doc, rather than reducing Blaine's pain load, has managed to add yet another pain to his life. Not fair, but then again, when did "fair" ever apply to the medical life of the Escoe family? I'm hoping that, with the number of people that read your blog, you'll get some good suggestions and insight that can truly help Blaine. In the meantime, just keep reminding him how many women out in blogland are jealous of you for having him!

Oh, so glad to hear that Blaine's scans are good!! WTG, Blaine! As for the semi-pain-management guy, so sorry. Maybe you need to come back up to Seattle for that??!??!!! Our weather is just lovely right now (she said sarcastically)....but, come to think of it, it's probably a bit better than what you have where you are. I'm not very good with pain coping suggestions - I usually just grab the first bottle of medication that I come across when I'm in pain. Hang in there, Blaine - we're pulling for you!

First off, GREAT news on Blaine's scan results. I am thrilled for you all, truly.

Second, that is ridiculous. Beyond ridiculous. Just crazy. You are gonna have to open up a major can of whoop ass.

I'm so happy that you had good news on the scans. Boy those doctors can really scare you sometimes.

I would look into going to a Pain Clinic even if you have to pay for it yourself. It would be worth it to get some relief for Blaine.

Kristie,

Most of the time it can be EXTREMELY helpful to have the previous pain mngt. Dr.(Ga.)call and speak with the new Dr.(Ok.)personally!! It would certainly be worth a try.

Well...the good news is that the scan is normal!

That stinks that there isn't a pain management specialist that he can see though.
