The only thing more grueling than trying to keep three high-energy kids entertained during a too-cold-to-play-outside-for-most-of-it Christmas Break with nothing but a paint roller for company?
The anticipation of getting them up at 6:30 am for their first day back to school.
It’s 10 pm now, and they are still going strong upstairs. I hear running. I hear squealing. I hear laughing. I hear yelling. Their’s, and Blaine’s.
Lord, deliver me from tomorrow morning. Thank you in advance.

Just think of the quiet time you will experience tomorrow when they're at school!!!
My little brother(12 y.o) called me at 12:30am to ask me what I was doing. He woke up after sleeping for 2 hours and was bored. That's what happens when they're up til all hours of the morning and sleep til 2 in the afternoon all winter vacation.
I'm in Texas, and it was 78 degrees today. I want a "too-cold-to-play-outside" day :(
BTW, I was FIRST- Yay!!!
My kids went back to school last Wednesday. The first day was kind of rough, but really not too bad. They were both ready to go back and bored staying at home. I wish I had a too cold to play outside day - yesterday it was 60 degrees here in Virginia - yuck - that's not winter.

Today is our first day back to school after the break as well. Lucky for me, I had to go back to work last week and the kids had to get up early anyway. Hope you have a great day and enjoy your peace and quiet while they are at school.

I said that same prayer last night!
I hear ya'!! Mine was already trying the " Can I stay up until 9:30 just for tonight'" bit with me lastnight!! She is however, safely off to school this morning. Hallelujah!
Well... were you able to get them up for school?? And also, since you are a Dancing with the Stars fan, are you watching Bruno and Carrie Ann's "Dance War" tonight?? I am. :)

Kristie,
I recieved this from a friend and for some reason immediately thought of you:)
Debbie from Alabama
HOME DEPOT FOR WOMEN
Danny was fixing a door and found that he needed a new hinge, so he sent his wife Deb to Home Depot. At Home Depot, Deb saw a beautiful Bathroom faucet while she was waiting for Walt, the manager, to finish waiting on a customer.
When Walt was finished, Deb asked "How much for that faucet?"
Walt replied, "That's pewter and it costs $300."
"My goodness that sure is a lot of money!" Deb exclaimed. Then she proceeded to describe the hinge that Danny had sent her to buy, and Walt went to the back room to find it.
From the back room Walt yelled, "Deb, you wanna screw for that hinge?"
Deb replied, "No, but I will for the faucet."
…. And this is why you can't send a woman to Home Depot.
since you haven't posted, i am assuming your morning was as ugly as mine... as was the homework....
deep breath!

I was the 'tough love' mom from hell last night after my daughter returned from the first day back at school...last semester of senior year...After much sighing Amanda said that "school was really bringing her down" and she wasn't excited about being back. My first thoughtwas "Senioritis"...my second thought was "What the....? And HOW much money am I paying for you to attend this school little lady?????" Grrr...so I said in a very no-nonsense way that I wasn't going to be hearing "that kind of talk", and for "that much money absolutely no complaints were allowed." We laughed (a bit) and A. admitted that all the kids were moaning about being back at school and she had 'caught' the 'blah' bug...sigh...My gut tells me its gonna be a looong last semester in high school.
Since you havent updated I thought I would check on you since you had some terrible weather...Hope the kids are back in school and you are enjoying the chocolate bom boms....Love, Marci
I'm hoping you survived and just happened to decide to pull the covers up over your head and sleep in.
