Having been that same tomboy myself, Kendrie, I feel your pain.
That having been said, you are awfully lucky that you have a mom that lets you dress like you want to and be yourself most of the time.
My mom dressed me like that for years until I finally had a huge uprising!

How cute!!
Hallie :)
I love the sandals!!! Where'd you get them and do they have them in big people sizes?
~Debbie~
Debbie, Payless, and, um, I don't know. I didn't check because (in yet another weird foot phobia of mine) I refuse to wear any kind of shoe or sandals with anything between my toes.
I was just coming here to say that I nearly fainted when I saw the first pic, thinking "No WAY is Kristie wearing sandals, cute as they are!" But it's Kendrie, and she looks great! Kendrie, just be thankful that there are relatively few occasions now where you really MUST dress up; church has gone casual, along with almost everything else. Hopefully there won't be anymore weddings in the near future, and you can pass the pretty outfit on to someone else.
Awe Kendrie, you are the cutest tomboy I know in a dress! Just think, the wedding won't last long, have your shorts ready, lol! Hugs from Fort Worth!
I agree with Pam...my first thought was "I can't believe that Kristie would show her feet in sandals on here!" knowing the foot fetish thing.
I, too, was a major tomboy but even I could appreciate a good dress once in a while. Kendrie, you look great, covered face and all! Hope the wedding was fun in spite of the dress!

Waaah! I can't see the photos. :(
I got to the second photograph and thought, "oh, this had better not be Kendrie, or there'll be trouble!"
At least it's back to shorts and bare feet for now!
Kendrie, you are very pretty, and can be proud to be in such nice clothes! You are such an awesome GIRL!
Claire
As a previous tomboy myself....it's okay as long as you don't wear it in normal life! Just special occasions:)
aww! Kendrie you look so cute! :)
Kendrie, you look so cute! I know you probably dont want to hear that, but you do. Besides, you gotta shake people up and keep 'em guessing now and then. Take a pair of shorts along to change into after the wedding if you can get away with it! Have fun!
As a complete and confirmed tomboy, I feel nothing but sympathy for Kendrie. I can't believe you made her wear a dress! What kind of mom are you??
When I was in elementary school, my mom somehow made me compromise that I would wear a dress to school for one day of the whole year. Don't you know that one day was the day I always got struck down with the most horrible stomach flu? Always had to come home sick. Poor mom, she just could NEVER pick the right day for me to wear a dress. ;)
This is so cute, and hilarious. Pack that kid some shorts in your purse. She deserves it after the cake cutting!
Hi, my name is Cate. I'm 35 years old, and I'm a tomboy. To this day, I don't particularly enjoy dressing up. Jeans, polos, and sandals are good for me. My mother STILL isn't over the fact that I'm not a girly girl. She has one. My sister. I'd rather ride my mountain bike.
Awww, poor Kendrie! She looks so sweet and all grown up though. Those will be photos that she can go back and have a good laugh over when she is older.
Have a great day,
Cathy
I know how she feels!
Too funny !!!!
Definitely worth a thousand words! Very cute!
A follow-up to my flippant post...
Kristie, I think it's great that you have chosen a dressy outfit for Kendrie for the wedding. Not because all weddings need dressy outfits.. not because it makes her "cute"... not for blackmail pictures to be used someday. But because it emphasizes to Kendrie that everything out there isn't about her... or about kids... or about "doing your own thing.. all the time". Sometimes, you have to do things you don't really like, because it's about someone else, and you want to honor them. That's a big lesson, and one that will serve Kendrie well throughout her life. You're a great mom, Kristie, even if you DO have a weird foot fetish!
On another note, I was thinking it would be interesting to do a post where your readers tried to rate things that you like. e.g... if I were getting you a present.. would you prefer:
a. a gift card to Sonic (no-brainer!)
b. a gift card to Michaels for scrapbooking supplies
c. a gift card to Wolf Camera (or a similar store) for camera accesories
d. a gift card to a Keds store
e. a gift card for a massage
hmmmm... which would be first.. and which would be last?
What a gorgeous outfit from top to toe Kendrie! You look beautiful even with your hands in front of your face! ;)
Have fun at the wedding! Those sandals look great for dancin'.
Blondie
completely adorable
Totally me. I wore shorts under my dresses and skirts through 8th grade.
Now, I can't get enough of my skirts, but I still hate dresses.
and p.s., unless I'm going to a wedding or some similar function, I still won't wear make-up. Not even to work. When I wear it, my coworkers are like, "huh?". I am a tomboy through and through.
Tell Kendrie that my mom commented AT the wedding how cute Kendrie looked. I was such a spaz however I forgot to tell her myself. She looked very pretty. I loved seeing her dressed up.

I suppose painted toe nails was pushing it? LOL
