Not as anonymous as I think

Ya’ll!!!

Guess who I got an e-mail from yesterday!!!

Can you guess? Can you? Hmmmmmmmmm?????????

Yep, Steve Vaughan himself. I’m not sure who exactly out there somehow got a link to my blog sent to him, or when or where or why, but it happened fast. Obviously, the internet is not near as anonymous as I thought it was. Thankfully, he was an extremely good sport about it and has agreed not to sue me for defamation. Or libel. Or slander. Or whatever else he could possibly sue me for, including posting that horrid picture of us from high school. Where, did many of you even notice, I had the exact same haircut as my date ... a fact that I think is even sadder than that dress.

In all honesty, he was good natured about it, and not only had kind, friendly, long-lost-things to say, but even suggested that he and I and my BFF Louis (who was *his* BFF in high school --- wait, did boys actually HAVE BFF’s in high school in the 80’s???) get together for lunch some time.

All I have to say is, after all the fun I poked at him, I think it would be polite and prudent for me to pay for lunch. Sonic or not.

Kristie,

I knew something good would come from that post! Yes, I do think it would be a good idea for you to pay for lunch...and in exchange he should give you numerous Sonic gift cards! Hopefully now that he has the link to your blog he will keep checking in and know what he is supposed to do! Enjoy.

Small world, Kristie...small world.
Maybe you'll get some free Sonic out of this after all :D

Wow, that WAS fast! And funny, very, very funny! At all embarrassing? :)

I think that if you DON'T get numerous Sonic gift cards, then all of the faithful, Kristie blog-loving reading/stalkers should boycott Sonic!! Wait.....that would include me!!! Never mind..pay for his lunch and pray you don't get black-balled from Sonic!

I hope that you have arranged a date for this lunch. Because you know that if you don't set a date, it'll never really happen. And when it DOES happen, we want all the juicy details, Sonic or not!

I checked out where the nearest Sonic was to me. It's about 62 miles away, sigh. I've never been to a Sonic, but now that's my dream...

He really emailed you?? Thats cool!!
We're you scared when you saw the email? Wondering if he'd be mad??
Think of the stories you'd have to tell from going to lunch with the CFO of SONIC!!! Maybe he'll share some Sonic secrets!! :)

He totally has a Google Alert for himself.

Probably: ["Steve Vaughan" sonic].

Try it. Then call him out for it :-)

I don't even know where the nearest Sonic is to me....never been to one....I must live by Cindi.

I think it is cool that you got an email from him. Glad he wasn't mad!

Wow, that was quick. I have to tell you when I first read this I was thinking Stevie Ray Vaughn and was highly impressed...oh well, Sonic VS a rock star...

Hey Kristie,

That is so cool that he emailed you. It is fun hearing from old friends and finding out how their lives have turned out. I would have been so nervous to see that email!

I know absolutely nothing about Sonic other than what I have read from you but it sounds awesome! We are driving to Vegas in August so I will definitely be looking for a Sonic along the way to check out. Actually, maybe I shouldn't because I might love it as much as you do and won't get to ever experience it. As far as I know there are no Sonics in Canada or at least not anywhere in Alberta that I have been.

Have a great day I hope you get together for lunch and catch up with your old friend!

Good gosh, you DO have the same haircut! I wasn't phased at all about the dress; I had one like it that was a "costume" for our Bicentennial show (yes, I was in high school in 1976..and sang "Oh, Shenandoah"...). And then I wore that crazy dress to church, without the hoops that I had to wear in the show! But the hair.. I never realized that my hair looked just like the boys' hair til now. Wow. Yuck.
Anyway... I hope this man realizes how many people you've brought to the gates of Sonic with your love (slavish devotion) to DDP in styrofoam cups with rabbit pellet ice. Really... I've always said you should be a spokesperson (poster child) for Sonic... maybe it can really happen now! How cool that you guys will "do lunch"!

Honestly, I couldn't fathom that your Sonic could live up to the hype you have given it. I stand corrected.

The new Sonic in MN is just a quick 45 minute drive (without traffic, of course) from my house. I will now invent reasons to go to St. Paul after visiting on Tuesday. Even the ice in those styrofom cups (!!!) was pure heaven.

Thanks for the extra 15 pounds Kristie, I know they coming! If I remember right, you have a Quik fetish too.. I should have known to trust your judgement!
