When Red is Good:
When a teacher uses a red pen to write a big, fat "A" on your paper.
When you bite into a juicy, ripe tomato.
When somebody buys me ruby jewelry, which granted, hasn't ever happened but maybe it will someday don't ever give up the dream.
When those slippers worked for Dorothy.
When Red is NOT good:
When the flag at the beach has been red EVERY SINGLE DAY of this retreat, and the kids haven't been able to get in the ocean for four days in a row due to the current and undertow, so please cross your fingers for a green or even a yellow flag today because honestly, if they can't get in the water on today, the last day, I think they might pretty much boycott the ocean and Florida and family vacations from now on.

I just knew you were going to be talking about sunburn...but I think this might be worse. Here's to nice safe beach water today so your kids can enjoy it!
Hey Kristie
I've just read the entire Journal History on Kendrie's CB page (www.caringbridge.org/ga/kendrie). I've read it before, but it still makes me laugh, cry and blink in amazement at the screen while I think about your family, and everything you dealt with during Kendrie's battle with cancer. I love the way you write, always with eloquency, humour, and most of all, honesty. It may not have always been easy for you to be so honest, but you didn't hold back. Congrats on the way you handled yourself, you really are an awesome person. All the best!
Praying for green!!
Sorry to hear that the kids haven't been able to get in the ocean. There's no fun in that! I hope today is the day. Just don't let them get red from sunburn.
Well, THAT sucks! Today just HAS to be a green-light day since it's the last one. Besides, what better photo ops than cute kids frolicking in the ocean, and you know how we all love pix.
Seriously, despite the red-flag days, I hope you all have had a wonderful time on your vacation.
I just hate red-flag days at the beach! Here's hoping to green flags all day long!

UGH!!!! I know- that totally sucks! We had the same thing happen to us in Mexico- only it was just me and my husband. Scene: the one time all year my husband go away just the two of us, work pays for EVERYTHING because it is a sales award trip, we are only there for 2 full days, and its rainy and windy the whole time!!! In MEXICO!!!!! Grrr. Hope you can salvage a really nice beach day on your last day there.
Red sucks. Hope it was green.
Oh No. Here's hoping the kid are/were able to go in the ocean!
Just wanted to wander on over and let you know I'm thinking of you all :o) Hope you're all well. Have followed you from Kendrie's site and have become addicted to your awesome style of writing! :o) Hope the weather improved for you!
Hoping you got a green flag yesterday (or yellow at least)!! Can't wait to see some great pics from your trip!!
When you get home do you think that you will be able to get back to the surrogacy story? I am so curious as to how that came to be.
