Not the brightest crayon in the box.

So, my kids watched “Max Keeble’s Big Move” for like, the eight BILLIONTH time this afternoon on Disney channel. They figured out how to work the DVR and now I’m basically screwed. For those of you unfamiliar with the story, it’s about a young boy who has to stand up to bullies, both of the middle-school, and adult, variety. It’s a story about getting picked on, and getting even, etc.

This evening, my son, my nine-year old son, who, can I just add, was selected to be in his schools GIFTED program this fall, asked his ten-year old sister to give him a swirly.

For fun.

And so she did.

Because she could think of no good reason NOT to submerge her brother's head in the toilet and flush.

And they laughed hysterically.

(sigh)
What the hell is wrong with my children?

Kristie,

My son's favorite Christmas was two years ago when his college age cousins gave him a swirly on Christmas morning!!!!

they were "laughing hysterically"? hey, as my mom always says, "it's better than crying!" sounds like loads of fun going on in the escoe household. that story should make for some interesting "what i did on my summer vacation" papers when school starts!

HELLO...I have finished Harry so now it is safe to venture on line again. I **so** didn't want to find out what happens until I read it in the book. I loved it, loved every page...and I don't want to spoil anything for anyone still reading - I laughed I cried, and now I feel like a friend has left town. I'm going to catch up on all your blog entries now Kristie...PS I'd never heard of a swirlie! Love to you all. Lisa

Well, I guess you're just going to have to be glad that apparently there is NOTHING in the world that embarrasses him--HAHA! And helpful? Brayden is nothing if not helpful! Today she will probably really do him a favor and give him an over-the-head wedgie. And I would imagine Kendrie is doing the play-by-play through all of this? I love it when siblings take care of each other's education and well-being! HAHAHAHA! FUN TIMES! You, my dear, need to get PHOTOGRAPHIC EVIDENCE of ALL of this. Remember how I told you to take every opportunity to embarrass them, down the road? Quick, get the camera and keep it with you--this is good material! Serious!

Hahaha...is it sad that I can see MY children doing the exact same thing?!? Never a dull moment at your house, huh?!?! :)

Sounds like good innocent fun...until somebody gets hurt! That would be the Mommism...

I was in college when Calvin and Hobbs books were huge. My family found great humor in putting the end of the toilet paper in the toilet, flushing and watching the toilet paper come off the roll very quickly and disappear. Cheap hotel toilet paper works best! And of course it was funnier after a few beers.

Enjoy! Luckily school starts soon!!

That is the funniest thing I have heard in a while!!

I had never heard of a swirly (we must've missed that particular movie, not sure how!) and was afraid to ask; and then I read on and found out and was sorry I'd found out, because it's GROSSING me out......I hope you don't use that blue, 10,000,000 Flushes thingie that I do, or poor Kellen now might have blue hair. I guess this makes a good case for always keeping your toilet bowl(s) clean - which of course I ALWAYS so {{{cough, cough}}}, especially since I entertain so VERY much {{{more coughing}}}. How many times did you make him wash his hair - in a row?????!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well sounds like the just-got-back-from-vacation honeymoon is over. That was a funny one!

I was glad to read about you and Blaine getting some time away to relax and recoup. Praying that things are going well with his cancer stuff...

If the concept wasn't so totally GROSS/DISGUSTING/VILE etc..it would have been a win/win - Toilet cleaned - Kids Happy ....but some-how vomit comes to mind:)

Maybe that example is the BEST reason for them to go back to school sooner than later!!!

YOUR vacation is officially over with that flush!!

A swirly? I have never heard of that one. Glad they didn't know about it when I was in school :)
I started the first HP book today. I really like it so far. I should be on to book 2 in just a couple of days. I'll let you know how it goes.

I can't believe he actually asked for a swirly!!! I wouldn't be surprised if Dalton did the same thing one day. Boys!

I've been out of town and am just getting caught up on your posts with cruise pictures. Keep 'em coming.

Dear kristie,
The cruise photo's are great, looks as though you had a relaxing time! I would swim in cold water! We have a pool but it's leaking so unfortunately I haven't been able to swim this year, I'm really pissed off about that. My children only like it if the water is really warm but I prefer it around 21 to 23° C, you soon get used it!! After that I find it too warm. I used to live in Germany and I would go in the sauna, after the hot sauna people walked naked outside in the snow to cool off, it was great!! Anyway, it burns off a the calories!!
I never heard of a 'swirly', Kellen must be mad!! Uugghhh, I hope that doesn't come over here to France, that's all I can say about it!!
Let us know how Blaine is doing, I hope and pray that he's doing well? He looks good in the pictures!
Take care,
love Angela
