I also don’t fight with my kids over clothes. At this stage in the game, I still pay for their clothes, which gives me the inalienable right to *choose* their clothing. So I can pretty much guarantee that everything in their closet is appropriate, and can allow them to pick each morning. Even if they do choose the same shirt, day after day after day. True, it might make me a little crazy, but in the long run, it just doesn’t matter.
So I didn’t care, once again, when she pulled on a pair of cargo pants with a hole in the knee. A small hole, but a hole nonetheless. Because really, even if I *were* going to buy the pictures, which I’m not, you couldn’t see the pants anyway. Pictures are always from the waist up. Same reason I didn’t say anything when she put on her new Lightning McQueen flip-flops. So she looked like a hobo, who loves the movie "Cars" …. Who cares?
It wasn’t until we got to school this morning and I saw the photographer’s set up in the commons area that I remembered: Spring Picture Day is also Class Picture Day. And my vertically-challenged youngest daughter is ALWAYS in the front row.
So to the parents of Kendrie’s classmates: I’m sorry. I’m sorry that it looks like a hobo-orphan was in school with your child this year. No, that’s not a homeless urchin who wandered in off the street and got in the picture. That is *my* grubby child in hole-y pants and pool shoes. I swear, I got her hair cut this afternoon, and threw the hole-y pants in the play-clothes drawer. I know, I know, too little too late. But I promise to try harder next year.
Apology #2: If you’ve been kind enough to write me this past week or so, I want you to know how much I appreciate each and every e-mail. And normally I try very hard to answer every one (I mean, not like there are HUNDREDS or anything, but you know what I mean) but this past week has been crazy-busy and I just haven’t been online like normal. Today, I spent four hours taking 426 photos (No, my fingers did not slip on the keypad and insert an extra digit. That’s four HUNDRED and twenty six photos) of a girlfriend of mine to give her husband as a birthday present in a few weeks. We were going for a 1940’s Pin-Up look, and if I do say so myself, I think they’re going to turn out great. Very Betty Grable-ish. She looked fabulous, and I’m sure he’ll love them when he sees them. Which made me think about the fact for Blaine’s birthday last month, I bought him a book and had cruise control put in his truck. Hmmmm, let’s balance one against the other, shall we? …. Sexy pin-up photos, or the ability to travel long distances at a steady speed? Obviously, we’ve been married a lot longer than they have, and we are also BORING AS HELL. But, apology #2 for being so busy leads to …..
Apology #3: There will be no new updates on this site until next week. I am leaving first thing tomorrow morning for Virginia to spend five days with some of my dearest girlfriends on the planet, and will be way too busy
But as I was thinking about the journal update I would do upon my return, it occurred to me that I’m getting pretty darn near the end of “The Saga of How Those Escoe Freaks Finally Got Their Shit Together and Became Parents” and that while some of you have requested that I go on into the story of my decision to become a surrogate, there is a good chance that more of you have gone into a COMA from the boringness and never-ending-ness of it all. So here’s my request: You tell me; I’ll leave it up to you. Hop online in the next day or two while I’m gone and let me know if I should continue, or if you’d prefer that I drop the topic and go back to our normal lives where I blog about my children’s obnoxious behavior and my obsession with Diet Dr Pepper and my ongoing quest to find a pair of jeans that successfully camouflage my muffin top. Or, if you’d prefer that in addition to dropping the baby topic, I also drop dead. Although really, if that’s the case, why are you here reading, you negative Nelly? Regular readers and lurkers alike, I’d love to hear from you and get your opinion ….. popular vote wins!

1 – 200 of 239 Newer› Newest»For the love of all that is holy, keep going!! Seriously. Sharing your experiences in all aspects of motherhood is a wonderful gift to all of us. Also, it's damn good reading.
Have a great vacation, and I, for one, look forward to the upcoming installments. (It's like repeats before Sweeps Week...)
Lets keep it going, in for a penny in for a pound. Or something like that.....
Please, please, please don't leave us hanging--we need the WHOLE story!
You TOTALLY have to keep going !!
First things first, Kendrie's outfit. Reminds me of the time in fifth grade I got my class pictures taken wearing a Jonathan Knight (of New Kids on the Block fame) button on my sweater. LOL. Hey, what can I say? They were big back then... My mom couldn't believe I didn't take the button off for the picture...
Second of all...of COURSE we want you to continue! We want to hear it all. Whatever you feel like sharing with us, I know I'd love to read it.
Have a great vacation!
Keep it going!!! And on the nights where you just can't...likely because of a long day with kids doing who-knows-what...then just write about that instead and we'll get our fix of daily adventures as well =)
Kristie,
Your life is bigger than life itself! I have to admit as sick as it sounds ... I do wait every day for your up-dates. I laugh and cry out loud too!
I, like your other readers will anxiously be awaiting for you to return from your "girls gone wild week". Of course we will be expecting to hear EVERY detail of that little trip too!
Jeesh... a week without an update. Kristie, don't you think you should have consulted with us for this long of a leave? Some of us may have to take up some serious Chocolate and donut eating while you are gone.
Perhaps I should consider starting a "Lap-top fund" so that in the future we do not have to go a week without an update.
Hugs to you and have a safe and fun trip.
Kathy (in Alaska)
I want to hear about the surrogate journey! But I also want to know how Blaine is doing... any news?
my vote is a YES!! keep the story going!
Okay, Kristie, if you don't finish, I will absolutely have no inspiration. I am enthralled by your story, you are a fabulous writer, I will be sad and downtrodden if you don't write. Did I beg enough? Awaiting the next update!
I NEED to know the WHOLE story. In as much detail AS POSSIBLE. Have a great time solving the world's problems.
Keep Going :)
Rileys Momma
OMG -- if I weren't in labor as I type this (yeah, trying to pass the time at 2 in the morning -- gotta love this labor crap), I would be so pissed. I seriously have you added to my "Need to check" list first thing every stinking morning so I am disappointed when there isn't a new update. You MUST MUST MUST continue. And remember this will be a sleep deprived mommy of 2 under 2 when you get back, so have some sympathy for me and continue!
What, are you kidding me?! No updates for a week? That's longer in Australian time, you know!
Keep going with the story!
Yep, it's unanimous! We want to hear it all and we obviously are all living vicariously!
Regarding the school pics, you're a much better mother than I was. I'd like to start over and have a re-do!
Have a great vacation!
Dixie
Do Not Make Us Come There. Seriously. I know I'm not the only one who wants it all--all that you're willing to share, that is. That includes the WHOLE saga, the obnoxious kid stories, the DDP frenzy, and any/everything else. Also pictures. And you really need to take all this into consideration, since I am one who is consistently driving up your site counter, and typing in caps (although I do it for emphasis rather than yelling...usually), and getting all indignant towards anyone who makes you feel the need to apologize...and if you don't, you'll get more run-on sentences like these from me. Not really :). In fact, I think Kathy (in Alaska) has a great idea with the "laptop fund." So then there would be no escaping your adoring public!!!
Of course we want you to keep going! Silly girl! Enjoy your trip and we'll all try to manage our Escoe Withdrawl symptoms while you are away...have a great time, Oh, and I don't know if this is news in America, I doubt it, but on this little island off the south coast of England i havejust discoverd Mars Bar Muffins. Ping. Thats the button on my trousers! Love and prayers.
You can't even stop now! I've been lurking and now I'm all caught up in the story.
Of course you have to keep going! It's bad enough that you'll be gone for several days! Please give us the rest of the story.
a) Please don't leave us hanging.
b) In my first grade picture I am in the middle of the front row, wearing my best Sunday Easter dress, little ankle socks with lace and my shoes? Black patent leather Mary Janes? Oh noooo, plaid tennis shoes because I pitched a fit and my mother wanted to teach me a lesson...One I still remember 40 years later..Mother does know best.
I'm totally glued....Please keep going!
You've got to be kidding. That's like asking a kid if they want Santa Clause to bring them gifts!!! YES! Bring it on!
Claire in Indiana
There best not be any "no" votes!
The WHOLE STORY! Please.....
Please keep going with your story and have a great vacation.
Phew, I'm so glad I'll be on vacation myself and everyone going with me is very happy that there wont be any computers anywhere close by ... so I wont be missing your update too much, but am already looking forward to catching up ones I return. I can't believe you are even asking, come on all you want is seeing all of us on our knees begging you to continue the saga. Haven't you read all the comments about people wanting to read your book, that you will hopefully be writing soon :-). Pretty please with sugar on top continue, we can't wait to hear it all. Enjoy your time away and have fun, but then hurry back and keep writing. Candy in Germany
Ok, seriously Kristie if you stop i will go into withdrawal!!!! Can I vote more than once?!?! Keep going!!!!! Have fun in Virginia- we are a fun state afterall! :) And as for Kendrie's outfit, well, those parents who are so uptight they make their kids dress up and be something they're not for the sake of pictures should get over it!
Trisha- Leesburg, VA
please, please, please, continue
enquiring minds want to know... plus we are really nosey :)
have a great weekend, can't wait till you come back.
Please keep going!
You must keep going!! I check this site everyday for more of your story and I would be so sad if you stopped!
Alison, Savannah
Back in the 70's when 'Welcome Back Kotter' was hot, my brother wore a t-shirt with the slogan "up your nose with a rubber hose" on it on picture day. So compared to that Kendrie was in formal wear. And PLEASE don't stop with your story, we're all hanging!
Just a lurker - but please keep sharing your story! I've really enjoyed reading about your family's journey.
I gotta tell ya, no matter what you talk about I would read it. Your story telling abilities have me back here every day laughing and forwarding it to my sister-in-law ("you've got to read what Kristie said today"). I've enjoyed reading about your kids, your diet dr pepper fettish, Blaine, etc. I really am interested in hearing how you decided to become a surrogate because that's something I would of loved to of done if I wasn't so old. Keep on a writin' and have a great vacation.

This "lurker" votes: KEEP GOING!!
I have always wanted to ask how you became a surrogate, but thought that I'd seem to nosy. Now that you're offering, I'm going to totally get in your business. Yes absolutely, we want to hear it all.
I want to hear the rest of the story. You can't leave us hanging. Have fun on your trip!
Sara
You just have to keep your story going!! DON'T LEAVE US HANGING!! I think I would go into withdrawl. Yes my life is so boring compared to yours:)
KEEP GOING!!!!!!!!!!!
PLEASE CONTINUE! I find this all fascinating! Seriously. (Obviously, I have no life of my own...)
Cheryl
WR
If you don't finish the story, I'm certain that I will drive to GA and sit on your doorstep until you tell me!
DON'T STOP NOW!
Please continue!!!
Without my daily blog fix I may go into withdrawal before you get back.
*Sigh*
Oh my 11 year old desperately needed a haircut for his class picture. oh well.
PLEASE keep this story going. The pregnancy with Kellen, birth of Kendrie, surragate journay (what you can share). We want it ALL!!
Coffee and Kristie go together like peas and carrots!!
Adding another vote to the "Keep Going" pile! :-) You cannot leave us hanging!!
I had to have a chuckle about Kendrie's outfit. As the mom of another very independant almost 6 year oldl ittle girl, who wears what she wants, when she wants, I can TOTALLY understand where you are coming from! And it makes me giggle, because I know that when our sweet girls are adults (or graduating high school, or getting married) that these hilarious pictures of them wearing their chosen outfits will embarass the hell out of them, and frankly, crack us up! Kids will be kids! =)
Have a GRAND vacation! I hope you can come up with ways to...cough...."save the rainforests", LOL. Seriously, have a good time, and we will be anxiously awaiting your next post!
I enjoy everything you write about. I see so much of myself in your writing. The Spring picture thing- its the same here. I don't buy them either so the kids look like whatever they want. I have to admit- I love the stories about the kids-I have 3 of my own and well, I can totally relate. But really. Just keep doing what you've been doing- you're awesome! Have a great time with your friends:)
Oh my goodness - Don't stop!! It would be like at the end of a TV season when they make you wait until fall to find out what happened!! I want to know how in the world you went from infertility to surrogate mother. My vote is for you to keep on going!
Tammy

I've only just found your blog in the past week, and I've been reading like crazy! It is awesome! Please keep going!
Have fun on vacation and just to make you feel good - your's is the first blog I read every morning. I'm just starting to see an RE and just reading your blog gives me hope. :-)
Will come out of de-lurking again to say "YES" you must continue! Your good natured hilarious posts have been a happy little jewel during some difficult days (about which you know too too well, it sounds).
And really? Taking a vacation? Seems pretty selfish to me -- leaving us all hanging here while you're outsolving...um...rainforest issues. :D So see, you must come home and write some more :D :D
But have a wonderful time. God bless!
I am seriously condiering become a surrogate so please continue and let me know the ins and outs of it! My son had cancer a couple of years ago and is better now. I met a mom there who had one child and could not have anymore. Ever since thenI have been conssidering surrogacy. Pregnance comes easy for me and I even end up thinner than when I started so please....continue!
Keep going! You are telling an amazing story and I feel like I'm back in time with you. I'm really enjoying it!!!
Have a great vacation.
Keep Going!!! I agree with all the other posts.
Absolutely want the story to continue, if for no other reason than you're on a roll and your book is writing itself right here!
Okay, that and that it's fascinating to many of us.
Enjoy the girl's weekend (loooong weekend). There's nothing better for one's sanity than communing with people who've known us forever - and love us anyway.
--Patti in NJ
you must keep going!!!!! truly, many of us overuse the comma, and are on an ongoing quest to camoflage that muffintop. I must hear the WHOLE story!!! I look forward to your posts and know I will sit down and laugh or cry or both, but either way I LOVE to read it!!!
Suzy

Oh man....by all means~ ~ KEEP GOING!! I look forward to your entries and so appreciate you sharing your life and family with us!! And have a GREAT vacation! We'll be waiting. . . . .
Nah, you're good. And if you believe that, I have some beach front property in Oklahoma for you.
No, Lake Murray doesn't count!
Please keep going!
First time poster here, please keep telling your story! I am finding it so engaging (I see many other commenters are too).
Oh and about the pictures, I am bad at this too (although with two kids finally in the same school system I am better) but I remember seeing proofs from my son's pre-school class where his hair is standing *straight* up in the back-oy.
Another lurker says keep it going.
Also, my youngest brother had this shirt that he called "his silly goose shirt" and in kindergarten, grade 1 and grade 2 he had his picture taken in the same shirt. He honestly thought that he would be able to wear it all the way to grade 8!! I'm sure that the teachers thought that my mother never bought him new clothes.
Mel - Canada
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE keep going...and I definately want to hear about surrogacy!!!!
CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!
I, like all of the others, want to hear about the rest of this story. I also want to read anything else that you write about. Whether it is about infertility, cancer, or diet Dr. Pepper with rabbit pellet ice, you make every post hit home with me in one way or another.
Hope you have a great vacation!
(What are the rest of us supposed to do for a week?????)
Bring it on, Kristie!!!
Normally a total lurker, but please continue. Would love to hear the surrogate story.
KEEP GOING WITH THE ESCOE BABY SOAP OPERA !!!!!!!!!
KEEP WRITING, WITH DETAILS!!!!!!!!
Keep 'er going! lol! I love the stories! I love your blog and your family! :) Have a GREAT weekend!

Put my vote in the 'keep going' pile. I'm afraid by Tuesday I'll be going through withdrawals from no updates. You can't keep us hanging.
My vote is for you to keep going. I'd love to hear the surrogacy stories. I think it is amazing that you have been a surrogate.
I hope you have a super weekend with your girlfriends. Can't wait until your return!
Keep going! PLEEEEEEASE!
I discovered your blog through "Mom's Daily Dose," and now I'm hooked. I think it is clear by the number of continue-with-your-story comments that I don't need to vote, but I'm voicing my opinion anyway. Please continue the story of how your amazing family became your amazing family.
another lurker here,
want to hear it all...
You MUST continue!!!!!! It's not only a great story, it's told in such a beautiful, witty way that it's no wonder so many of us are addicted!!!!
Can't wait for the saga to continue.... :)))))
Mary in Illinois
Keep going! You can't just leave us hanging! Whether we have had the same problems or similar problems it is great to hear someone else express the same feelings and to hear another's point of view!
I want to know about surrogacy, too. I never vote here, but I will vote on this issue.
KEEP GOING!!!!! PLEEEEEEEEEEEASE!

We want more, we want more...we want it ALL! Please keep the info rolling!!! And HELL to the NO on that offending crap. You are being refreshingly honest and I love reading all about you and those folks you live with...DON"T STOP.
Kristie,
Of course I want to hear more! Keep going!
Spring pictures are sibling pictures in our school; you can elect for one photo of all of your kids or one photo of each child separately. Since you have to pay for the photos, I elect for the one sibling picture. I sent my girls in similar-style long-sleeve t-shirts and jeans. It's a sure bet that at least one of my girls will look like she's been eating lemons all morning, which will cause me not to buy the picture. Of course, both girls were (and still are) in desperate need of a haircut.
Have a great time in Virginia! We will miss you!
Sue (ALL-Kids)
Please don't stop the baby stories!!!! I want to know how each bullet point of your beginning list came to happen.
Definitely keep going! I've really been enjoying reading your stories, even the parts that don't sound so, well, enjoyable.
Holy Crap!! Look at all these comments! Looks like you better continue the story or you will have an angry mob at your doorstep!
M
I really hope you keep going... Your story is so interesting, and so real. Keep it up, please!!! :) I am addicted.
Please, please, please don't stop! I love your updates! I'm a lurker (sorry!), but I want to hear the rest of the story.
I feel as if I just watched the Season Finale of my favorite show...you seriously are going to make me, along with everyone else wait to hear from you until Tuesday?
Please continue with your infertility and being a surrogate mother, but slip in a current Escoe adventure every now and then! Have a fabulous vacation, we will all be waiting patiently by our computers! The world of cyberspace will probably crash when the news is out that you are back...for the rest of the story!
Thanks for sharing!
I know the rest of the story and still want to hear it...
Looking forward to this weekend. One of the entires mentioned GIRLS GONE WILD!?! Does that include slippers and PJs? We're getting old......
See you in 7 hours! WAHOO!
Keep on Kristie! I so much want to hear your Surrogate story. I had thought about it when I could get pg so easy but my friends seemed to have more trouble. I would love to hear the whole long story!
Claire
I am definantly a lurker, and I just had to come out and say don't you even stop with this story. I check each morning to see if you have added something new! I love to read it all! I would even love to hear about the surrogacy. Have a great trip!
Even though I know the "gist" of the story, I have so enjoyed reading each entry and all the little details that make it so wonderful!! And Will looked just as pitiful for his class picture today with his Bill Elliot tshirt and almost too short jeans. Too bad he and Kendrie aren't in the same class, they could REALLY jazz up the class picture together. But hey, that's his everyday look, so why change for the picture? :)
I want to hear the story! Please? It is a pretty wonderful story--really, you could write a book!
Gotta have the whole, gory story! It's not like I know anyone else who's been a surrogate.
Are you serious! The surrogacy part is, obviously, very important to me (duh!!) Get your @ss back from scrapbooking and eating chocolate and whatever else you're doing and keep typing! Geesh.
As a long time follower of Kendrie's website - and now this one, you have to keep the story going.
I'm interested to hear how the whole surrogacy thing started though, too. (Although I can totally see after years of frustrations how you would want to help others.)
Please keep going! I don't know how I am even going to contain myself a whole week with out reading your blog! It is the first thing I do everyday, even when it is really busy at work and I can't afford the extra few minutes of ready your wonderful experiences!!
Abby
Kristie, now what kind of question is that, do we want you to continue? HELL YES! Like the others, I'll miss your everyday blogs, but, have a great time with your girlfriends, and hurry back!
I agree! You can't stop now - it would be like ending in the middle of the story! The fact that we have to wait until next week is long enough.
Never spoken up on your blog before, but please keep going! You'd make a facinating book.
An interested reader.
Please don't stop!!! I am definitely a LURKER. I will have a very boring life the next few days without coming here and see what's going on. Interestingly enough, I still go by Kendrie's CB site to see if it is updated. I love hearing about your life. I so admire you and wish I hadn't of had a back injury so I could be a surrogate. I would love to know the surrogate story.
I have thoroughly enjoyed your recent posts. I only started reading you several weeks ago and feel like I lucked out to be in on the motherhood saga.
Oh, and I am obsessed with diet dr. pepper too. Sonic has diet dr. pepper and a drive-up window!!
PLEASE keep going. Pretty please? I've been lurking here since Amalah's post about your blog and I'm LOVING the story!
hydrogeek@diaryland.com
Keep writing your story. I find it very interesting. I am a lurker on this site, but I have followed Kendrie's site for a couple of years now. I am so glad she is doing so well. I, too, had infertility problems. I now have two beautiful daughters. The first pregnancy, I had taken Clomid. Thank God she was not multiples! I would have never had another one! The second one was a "surprise" since the daughter didn't think I would get pregnant again. It wasn't great timing, so I will have to admit I had some of the same feelings as you had when you found out you were pregnant with Kellen. But, what blessings they are.
Have a great time with your friends and don't even think about us sitting here waiting for your next episode.
OF course we want you to continue. All of us who have followed you through Kendrie's treatment have spent years wondering about the detail!
Definitely keep going and then I want to hear the surrogacy stories too.
Amy from NJ
I currently have 44 blogs I read daily in my Google Reader. Yours is the only one I cannot wait to read... and it is because of this series you are doing about how you built your family.
It is like reading a book only I can't stay up until 3am to finish it... I have to wait for the next chapter to be posted... and it is great!
Please don't stop the series. Please? Pretty please??!!!
Keep going! Hi, I'm a lurker and I love your blooooog!
Please don't leave us haning! Continue on. I love reading your blog. Have a great weekend with your girlfriends and return safely to continue!!!! Thanks for sharing with us.
How about both? Can we have both? Maybe alternate the two topics. I enjoy both topics but, for those who don't, they could just read what they are interested in reading. Whatever you do, keep writing!
KEEP GOING!!!!
DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT. Wouldn't that be a big tease to only give us the story of the Escoe family growth and not include how you helped other families as well? You MUST go on!
I would really like to hear more. I've been fascinated by your story.
YES, YES, YES!!!
Please keep going! I check this site every day to see if you have continued the baby saga. I would love to hear about how you decided to become a surrogate.
Don't stop now!!
Are you kidding me!? How long are you going to be GONE!! Until Tuesday...I will visit this site hundred times until then, mentally forgetting that you are having the time of your life while I on the other hand, lead a dull life and am obsessed with reading about yours!!
Do you honestly think that you are boring us!!?? When I signed on there were arlready 114 postings... I believe that confirms that if you don't continue we WILL hunt you down and make you tell us the rest of the story...we only have one chapter done - we still have biological and surrogacy to go through!!
May God speed us through the next few days until Tuesday!!
Kristina

Kristie, I've been following your family's story for at least 2 years and I just love hearing about your lives before I got to "know" you.
I would love for you to keep on going!

metaphor82@aol.com
Oh my gosh. I'm a total lurker who can't wait to "hear" the rest of this story. Don't stop now!!
O.K. Kristie - you lured me out of my lurking. I've been following Kendrie for years and only signed once at OT! I wish I had the talent you have for putting *pen to paper.* Please keep sharing the stories!
Oh, no! You've gotta keep going! You stopping the story now would be like Sonic filling your large styrofoam cup half way w/DPP, w/no pellet ice!!! Judging by all the 'yes' votes, you've spoiled us w/your daily humor & choas. We're going be suffering from withdrawals w/no updates until Tuesday. But, that's ok, everyone is entitled to a break. So enjoy your break & I'll look forward to Tuesday's update.
Ummmmm..... Kristie..... you must keep writing on any subject that grabs your fancy. We, your public, will keep hitting refresh whether you are writing about surrogacy or idiocy. You rock girl. BTW- Have you ever considered putting a Google Adsense campaign on your blog? I mean, this could be a means for saving for the kids' college funds, and I'm sure that the ads themselves will create fodder for discussion. Just a thought.
D
Note: I realize now that my original post has a few spelling errors (DPP should have been DDP & choas should have been chaos)...so I'm sorry if I offended you, Kristie! :-) I had to say it!!!
I would absolutly loooove to hear about the surrogacies!!!!! Also, updates on poor Blaine and his on-going saga, especially as it occasionally brings you both up here to my neck of the woods and I still harbor the fantasy of getting a chance to meet you in person one of these times (although it's hard to do when you work full time!). As for Brayden's adoption, it's been an enchanting story and I've loved it. Any one who's bored must have no taste and/or appreciation for fine literature and really great narrative, IMHO, anyway!! Keep going - and in the meantime, have a good mini-break!
How could you leave us? Waaaah!
No, really, have a great time.
And, being the selfish little bitch that I am, I think you should consider the adoption into surrogacy mode while also updating us on your current, happy (or not so happy) lives. Like a that was then, this is now format.
Anyway, no matter what you do, I'll still be here!
It's not April 1 yet, so stop kidding about not finishing the story!!!!! I'd say from the 100+ comments (although I haven't read them yet), that the mob has spoken and will expect the chapter covering "happily-ever-after-except-for-the-cancer-and-shit" to be posted immediately upon your return or the resolution of your spring break hangover.
Have a happy, happy, happy vacation!
And PS, the world should be happy that the grubby little girl in the class picture is still AROUND to be grubby in the class picture, not worrying whether her outfit ruins the elementary school ambiance....
Keep going, please!!
Oh, and check this out.....

Have a fantastic time in Virginia, I am so jealous :-)
Please dont even consider stopping. I have been reading your site for ages now and it is one of the first pages I open everyday. In fact I will miss your updates over the weekend. I enjoy everything you post and have been eagerly awaiting all the updates about the adoption/infertility.
As for the photo, it happes to all of us. Last year my daughter forgot to brush her hair so it stood up all around her head. And in the class photo the entire class were standing neatly with their hands behind her back. APart from my daughter who stood in the middle of the second row hands in front of her, hair around her head, grinning like a maniac. I am sure lots of people have blacked her out of the pic!

Keep it up please, even though we know the ending, the middle of the book is the best part! ~ enjoy your weekend away, could you update my albums next time you go away?? judi mitchell
MORE, MORE, MORE..........in fact, when you think you've REALLY come to the end of the story, I'd like it if you just start making stuff up!!! I love your writing style, your sense of humor, your sarcasm, ALL of it. You keep blogging and I'll keep reading. And just like I do for American Idol, I'll vote more than once if I have to!
You have NEVER done anything half ass in your life! PERMISSION denied to start now.........
By the way, do the families of the surrogate children you had read and post in the journal like "M" does???
When I posted I was #130 - enough postive reinforcement???? If it was just an ego thing with you - I'd heckle - but your style, insight, wit, wisdom, experience, delivery is is is A Community Service - covering lots of communities.....
Keep it going...........please!
Kristie, You dont really think for one minute that you could get away with not finishing your story and going on to the next one..now do you? Like bloodhounds we would hunt you down, for we would be readers on a mission. Truth being we are addicts hooked on your blog, and we all know you dont want to see us go thru withdrawl symptons. lol. Enjoy your time with your friends, dont give us on here, frothing at the mouth waiting for you to come back another thought.:)) See you next Tues..Right? Right? Right?.
Please keep it going!!!! I want to hear the rest of the story and how you became a surogate!
I didn't have time to write this morning but in the 5 hours I was gone, close to 100 people have signed and I didn't see a single "NO" vote.
Can't wait for the next update! Have a great weekend...Girls Gone Wild!!!
Hey, the verification is gone? It always took me 3-5 times to get my comment accepted so I won't miss it!
Hugs,
I heard about your site through Daily Dose, and I'm hooked. You have such awesome stories and I'd love to hear more.
I would love to hear the stories of how/why you decided to become a surrogate. I've been enjoying your tales so far, and look forward to them continuing.
My vote is to go into the surrogate part.
I like these looks back. Somehow, telling a story after it's had a chance to reconcile itself and simmer in the past for a bit has a polished feel when retold as opposed to telling when it happens.
And over 100 comments? Holy moly, woman. That's some delurking going on there.
Please continue on,
I am a lurker from LI NY. Have been reading Kendries CB website for years.(found you via my brothers DX with a GBM BT 3 years ago.) Feells like I know the Escoes live and in person sometimes. You are never boring!!!!!!! So glad everyone is doing well and often include Blaines "medical mishaps" in my prayers.
Hopin the" continues" win!!!!!

Keep going please!
Not just the whole story from infertility to surrogacy but the obnoxious behaviour stories as well if you know what's good for you.
OF COURSE YOU SHOULD KEEP GOING!
(sorry for the shouting...you almost gave me a stroke, you sent my blood pressure up so high, so fast!)
Don't DO that to us, woman! Oh, and have fun while you're gone. Miss us!
Hi,
I would love to hear more:)
Sherri
www.caringbridge.org/oh/kara
More, more, more... please?
Thank you VERY much...
You gotta finish what you start!
And on the school picture topic - imagine a kindergartner learning how to use scissors on her own hair, and then imagine the same kindergartner learning how to skin-a-cat on the monkey bars...on the same day. Yes, that's right: Class Picture Day, 1966! Who in their right mind would schedule the kindergarten class for pictures AFTER recess??
PLEASE do not stop! I'm on the edge of my seat.
As someone who is still single (at age 40 nonetheless!) and already aware of her own fertility problems, I would love for you to continue with your story. It gives me great hope that someday I too will have a family - even if it's through adoption (my sister has an adopted son, then she gave birth to a son 4 years later) as a single parent. I look forward to reading the continuing story...
I can't believe I looked a few hours ago and there were 30 comments, now there are 147! Please continue with the saga. I, like several others obviously have no life of my own. Could you please give an update on Blaine? Have a great vacation.
I want more baby story. I wanna hear it all. I am so not in a comma.
:) Thanks
PLEASE continue!! With baby, obnoxious children or whatever other stories that offers the chance to smile or often chuckle out loud while sneaking a break from the mundane and often stressful work day!
OMG you were a surrogate too??? This story has so many twists I feel like it should be a novel (and it should).
Please please please, more more more!!!
Keep going. I want to hear all of it.
I, for one, would love to hear more of the story. You are a great writer, and I will check your blog daily whether you decide to continue on with the baby saga or not. However, after seeing the overwhelming response you have had from regular responders and lurkers (I'm the latter), I sure hope you were pulling for the vote to go the way that it has gone! Hope you have a wonderful memory-making vacation!
No update for a week? Oh man, I'm in withdrawal already...
And just like the 153 people who commented before me, I want you to keeep going with your stories :-)
Have fun with your friend!
Renee in Canada
You already know my answer to your question. Yes, yes, yes!!! Your blog is the first thing I check when I get out of bed, before I bother to brush my teeth! I would be happy to send a donation for your lap top. I hope you have a great vacation, but I will miss you updates like crazy!
If you stop now it would be like getting into a really good novel and losing the book! Please continue!!!!
Gayle in AL
GEEZ LOUISE, GIRLFRIEND, you WOULD NOT do that to all of us Escoe addicts, would you? Please continue the adoption and pregnancy story. Your "normal" daily life journals are great also. I loved the gym and feet stories. Updates on Blaine and Kendrie also.
Please finish the post...we beg of you!
OK, I admit - I'm a lurker. OF COURSE you have to finish the story. I need to know how it ends. Well I guess I know how it ends because I can see the pictures; but still, I've got to get the details.........
look on the bright side....at least she wasn't wearing those little cowboy boots she used to be obsessed with......
Kristie, I have GOT to know the rest of this story. If you don't finish, I'll have to drive to GA, hunt you down, and Picket with Pat from CA. Seriously, get on with this story. I'm addicted!
Kristie, are you serious??? I can't imagine how could you stop here your story... Everybody is waiting for next chapter of your story!! :-)) I usually check your blog every day, just to be able to read as soon as possible how the story is going on!
I hope you have a wonderful vacation!! Go rock! :-))
A big kiss,
Federica
PS: Just as trish asked... how about posting some pictures of your scrapbooks?
Even if you just asked to get us to tell you how much we like you, I"ll totally go for that. Please keep going!
Abigail
I'm commenter #165....and I don't even know you in person, never corresponded with you but I LOVE YOUR blog...I found you through Kendrie's caringbridge site which I found through some Love Quilts child's site - can't even remember anymore but I stitch lots of squares for Caringbridge...anyway I LOVE your blog...you crack me up...and you'd better keep going with the story of your life...it's better than TV and many novels that I have read! :)
I vote for both...baby stories and regular day to day life!!
Keep going with the stories. They are the best!!!! You are a great writer.
If you stop now I will cry. I think we are all hooked on your amazing journey. Don't leave us hanging... please!!!
PLEASE Continue!! I look forward to your stories!!
Keep going!! Tell the whole story...
Keep going... Tell the WHOLE story. (and tell us about your day-to-day life too! I won't stop reading!
I found your site over a year ago, came hear from Molly's site...well I never signed, just silently prayed for your family. I have enjoyed your writing--even when things are rough, you show us how to deal.
Keep writing...this is what I'd call the "sloppy copy" for the real book.
Of course you have to finish. I doubt however, that you are as close to the end as you think. At least I hope not! I'm thinking at least 3 or 4 more "chapters".
Have fun in VA!

Keep going, please!
Kristie, you cannot stop now! You do not have anyone's permission to end this saga!
Hugs,
Ellen
OK, OK, Pregnant Pause enough~~~
Keep sharing your stories...this no posting til Tuesday cliff hanger is going to make me do something completely nuts like ... clean out that basement or something this weekend.
Hi Kristie,
I'm a lurker who got here from caringbridge...I've never left a comment before, but I LOVE reading your blog!! I cracked up when I saw that there were already 177 comments on this entry! I didn't take the time to read them all, but I doubt anyone is asking you to stop! I don't have any children of my own, but I am so interested to read because my cousins have followed a path similar to yours - infertility, adoption, unexpected pregnancy - so I can relate at some level!
So anyway, the moral of the story is, whatever you are willing to write/tell, I'll keep reading! You are an amazing writer!! I hope you have a great time away with the girls!
Kristen in NY
Okay, that's seriously not funny. You must finish this story! I would love to hear about your surrogate story as well. Thanks for the heads up on the hiatus...I would have been checking and worrying about you!
I have been a lurker for way too long now ... checking into Kendrie's Caringbridge web site ... and now your blog. This is the first time I have posted. KEEP ON GOING ... you can't get us all hooked and then stop!!! I hope you enjoy your trip!!! Don't leave us hanging for too long once you get back ;) (cuz it's all about us ... right?!?!?!)
~Jen

You can't stop now!
Kristi, you absolutely cannot stop now. You have all of us rivited to our seats. It would be like the pizza delivery guy dropping the pizza on the front stoop just as he rings the door bell!! Please, don't keep us in suspense!
Stephanie in Portland, Oregon
Keep going. We're your adoring public and we want more! You can throw in some obsessing about jeans that don't fit with the pregnancy thing, right? See, it's two birds with one stone. But really, I want to hear the rest of the baby sagas.
Continue, please!
klg
this is my initial input (but i see there are almost 200 before me!!!!): how DARE you even think we are tired of you! You are like crack to me (not that i would even know what that feels like.... OK... the See's little eggs i steal from my kids easter baskets...) - whatever your blog may be...heart wrenching, comical, mothering BS.... it is all, in every shape and form, wonderful as it is versed so passionatly - which is SO HARD in e-mail - by YOU.
HAve a wonderful get away.
Love to all. Mary in SD, CA/Crosslake, MN
Ummm, seriously, a week?! Please open a paypal account so we can all contribute to your laptop fund...what will I do with my time for a week? Seriously, I start twitching with withdrawals when you skip a day. Sigh...you are my prozac...what now?
Okay, enjoy your vacation...
MORE, MORE, MORE, MORE!! I would love to hear it all!!

Kristie,
Clearly, we, your loyal readers (who may or may not have lives of our own) are very much interested in hearing all about your life adventures. Every nitty-gritty detail of it that you are willing to share.
Like crack-heads, we are addicted to your stories. I for one, agree with another post above that if you run out of real life stories, make some up ! Somehow I doubt you could EVER run out of real life stories though.
Kathy in Alaska
Virginia? what are we supposed to do till then???
We want more!! we want more!!
I think you should get one of those smart phones where you can update anywhere !
Oh yes, keep going! Go, go, go! If you don't, I will be forced to hound you will e-mails, phone calls, visits to your home, and even stalking you at your kids' soccer practices (same day of the week, time, and place as my daughter's...), and possibly even bug Blaine at work until he BEGS you to tell me the rest of the story so I'll leave him alone! LOL (that should be a maniacal laugh)! So keep sharing!
I am a "lurker" from Texas who followed you from Kendrie's site. You make me smile and laugh out loud. The only 2 blogs I check every day are yours and Pioneer Woman's. Thanks for the laughs and the honesty. By all means, please keep going.
Are you even kidding?? You can't stop now and leave us hanging. Seriously, I've followed you from Kendrie's CB page for quite some time and was always intrigued by the surrogate thing and have at times gone way back reading those journal entries hoping to get more insight and info but never found very much. The infertility story was hilarious and heart wrenching at the same time. Please continue on!!
Mindy in Georgia
Yes! My vote is Yes - keep the story going and have a fun scrapbooking weekend.
This is fascinating. Please don't stop.
YES.....SI.....OUI.....in every language!!!!!!! Keep it coming!!!
Are you kidding me......I have been hooked from the first time I visited Kendrie's site. I love reading about your family and the infertility story is totally amazing and gives some of us hope for the future.
Also, one other noteworthy point, do you see how many people love reading your journal entries....you should really write a book....from the looks of the number of people signing in to vote you would sell at least 198 copies :) :).
Wow - almost up to 200 posts....I think you really ought to seriously consider the book writing idea....maybe God is trying to tell you something here. I'm not the only one who thinks you have a gift. You really should go for it, girl!
I am very inspired by your story and hope you continue! Thanks for sharing it with us. Have a great trip!
Call me greedy, but I want it all - the continuing story of your quest to become parents, surrogacy, and of course, all the stories about your children, too!
You just have to keep going, especially for those of us who like to claim you as our BFF even though we've never really met you! Seriously, your life story (past, present and future) is wonderful. And although I haven't scrolled all the way down, I'll bet I'm the 203rd person to vote "yes!" Have a great time with your friends!
OMG!!!! you have 203 comments here. My vote is to keep going!! You are truly gifted and amazing!!! I can't wait until you get back and continue. Have a great time.
Jean in MA
Well it is quite obvious the the "yes" continue your story vote dominates..but while you are on your little get-away the rest of us just keep coming back to see your new total of desperate reader numbers grow. Someone already profited from the desperate housewife version - so devoted Kristie blog fans it is. I hope you are proud of yourself - you have brought all of us to a new low by our obsession with your life & our chronic spending our days counting your fans!!! Hope you rested your witty self and are recharged - not all of us got away from our real lives since we prefer to be included in the one we share vicariously through yours! Welcome home slacker!!!
205 comments .. Three dollars each would buy Kristie a laptop to take on her get aways. She can vacation from family but not us !!! We would not have to go even one day without a Kristie fix.
I'm not quite sure what to say...but there is NO way you can leave us hanging without filling us in on ALL your stories! We NEED to know! We are ADDICTED!
Please, please, please keep writing! I am dying to know what inspired you to become a surrogate and the experiences it gives!
Holly
Look here, you can't spill your guts and then suddenly stop. I'll have withdrawals. Except for my dog and hubby, you are the best part of my day. And sometimes your blog comes in first. Please, let's hear more.
Hope you enjoy your girlie time, but hurry back. I need me some more Kristie!! You've got to keep the story going. I'm so hooked now!!!
