Jumpin' Jack Flash

This will be short and sweet, considering we were up at 4am this morning to get to the hospital on time, and it's now after 10pm and I am still here, and for one thing, I'm too old for this crap and for another thing, what is it about sitting in a hospital waiting room that is so exhausting? Must have been all that strenous walking back and forth from the vending machines while Blaine was in surgery --- I'm a nervous eater, you know.

It went well, though ---- lasted about four hours and they were able to accomplish exactly what they hoped. The area on his leg where they took the skin graft is sore, and of course his face hurts. And let's be honest, looks funny because they had to hyper-stretch the repair area to account for potential tissue shrinkage (NOT the same kind of shrinkage they discussed on Seinfeld...)

He looks like Mick Jagger. Mick Jagger with four cans of Skoal tucked in his upper lip. Mick Jagger with four cans of Skoal tucked in his upper lip, which just received collagen injections. But hey! He's got teeth attached to this temporary prosthetic device, which is sort of cool. I totally wasn't expecting that, and would have been pleasantly surprise were I not so shocked by his Mick Jagger on steroids lips.

I'm going back to the hotel now to get some sleep. I'm a little scared to kiss him goodbye, though, for fear his face might explode.

Glad that Blaine's surgery went well. I'm a nervous eater also so can relate to your going to the vending machine all day. Hope that Blaine's hospital stay is short. Will keep you in my prayers and in my thoughts.

Yippee! So glad things went well for Blaine today! I hope his recovery is quick and you guys can get on with a normal life. Well, as normal as it can be for the Escoes, lol.

Had to laugh at your head exploding comment.

Great News - while Blaine was having successful surgery - the vending machines cooperated and didn't eat your $$'s without giving you the prize!!! Win/Win...

Have a happy weekend - and celebrate with something chewy soon.

Dear Kristie,
I read through the last 3 entries tonight as I have been away a few days. I'm very sorry poor Blaine is going through so much crap, he sounds like such a sweetie who couldn't possibly deserve this. I hope he is not feeling sore now? I'm afraid I burst out laughing at your comment about not kissing him in case his head exploded, but I felt like I wanted to cry at the same time. What a range of emotions just reading this creates, how on earth do you cope? I'm sure your wonderful sense of humour helps a lot. I send you my best wishes and a big hug for both of you. I pray that one day soon Blayne will be done with all the crap and will be healed. Bon Courage as they say here in France, you need it.
Take care,
Love Angela
