Thanks for the well wishes for our trip ..... Blaine's procedure went .... well ..... it sort of .... they sort of ..... the doctor ..... you know ..... well ..... it didn't happen. Long, boring story, but bottom line is it's Blaine, the person for whom nothing ever goes as planned, and really, what did you expect? So no "experimental" procedure for us, at least not this time.
The flip side is that he and I got to drive in a car together (NOKIDSNOKIDSNOKIDS) ten hours on Monday and nine hours on Tuesday and eat tons of junk food and talk and laugh and reminisce and talk some more and then eat at Cracker Barrel and order pizza and watch
"13 Going on 30" at the hotel together and did I mention talking and talking and talking and eating junk food and then talking some more and all because there were no kids?
Pretty much the best 36 hour date ever.
Except for the fact my butt had barely recovered from the Baltimore drive and now I fear the indentations from the driver's seat might be permanent.
Other than that, it was nice to be with him.

Awwww I like this post! ;) Glad you saw your silver lining!
Hope the whole trip wasn't in vain re: Blaine's pain control, are they working on a new solution?
I'm sorry to hear you made that long trip for nothing. I hope the put together another plan very soon to help Blaine with his pain.
Well most of that really stinks. I hope they are coming up with something even better?! I know he had "medium hopes" for this...because seriously, high is just too much to bet on these days. :) xoKim
uggh! Poor Blaine- was hoping this treatment would help. Is there anything else they are thinking of trying anytime soon? Well, at least you guys had a fun "date" with no kids! :)
Aww, glad you at least had fun. It's just a taste of things to come in a few years when the kids are big! It's so weird for us to go out to eat or go to the lake for a few days and the kids aren't with us! Our son came to the lake for the Fourth and it was weird to have him there, someone else in the camper! I hope they can find some solution for Blaine, he's had enough crap! How's your sister doing? How's Grandma Betty doing? Update us!

Maybe more 36-hour dates would help :)

You have a MUCH better outlook than I would have...I would have been pissed as hell to get all the way there and not have Blaine feel any better.
Really hope they have a new plan in store for him.

So it was just all a ruse to get to spend time with your husband, uh? Sorry it didn't go as planned.
PS>>>hope your sister made out well on Monday

I am glad you got to have a nice date. Sorry the procedure didnt happen.
Please update us on that later.
Glad you took lemons and made lemonade!!!
Ohhhh, you have me beat! I drove 8 hours yesterday with my kid...through 109 degree weather and to our hotel...it was fun actually. This makes 3000 miles driven for the month of July! I love summer!
Sorry about the experimental treatment...at least it wasn't the breast doctor like last time! Glad you had fun together :)

You have a GREAT attitude. Rotten that Blaine hasn't gotten any help yet. I hope it is just around the corner.

oh the time alone- what lengths you have to go to get alone time.
Long way to go to not have things turn out- so sorry for you and for Blaine.

Well Kristie, I just think that it's so awesome that you guys were able to turn a crap sandwich into an icecream sandwich. Prayers being said for Blaine, your mom and sister...............
