And we shall re-name him "Madalyn Murray O'Hare"

Please note what is chewed almost beyond recognition: A Bible storybook.

Please note what is lying next to the book, UN-chewed: a bright orange, good-smelling (to a dog) good-tasting (to a dog) good textured (so the tag claimed) fairly expensive Chew Bone.

(NOT as expensive as that set of storybooks, but that's another story for another day, let's just say I don't know if it's more shameful for me to confess to owning an "As Seen On TV" Magic Bullet, or admitting we bought these books from a door-to-door traveling salesman.)

Please note, in our defense, that the Bible storybook was placed properly on the bookshelf, and the dog dragged it out either with his teeth, or his little paws, and commenced to destroying all the stories for the little children who believe in the baby Jesus.

I will need a moment of silence now, to pray for my dog's eternal soul.

LMAO, which one is responsible for this terrible deed? Please tell me it wasn't the Golden.

May God have mercy on his canine soul!

You are so so funny!!! I will pray for the dogs soul, too!

Hope your mom is feeling well.. and how is Blaine doing??

Thinking of you all and hope you make it thru the summer with some books intact! Last day of school today for my kids, and they would appreciate it if our dog would eat their books!

My dogs have that same bone. Well, should I say had. I had to throw it away last night because Luke chewed it to shreds. But I can't complain I guess, at least they aren't chewing up the bible! I'll pray for him..lol!

Thanks for making me love our new kitten. He has some bad habits, but he has not destroyed anything yet. Even if he does, he lets my 2 year old carry him around by his neck until rescued, so he can not be that bad!

Holy moly! I grew up with the whole set of those books - along with the "Uncle Arthur's Bedtime Stories" series. I still have them in fact. Brings back a lot of memories.

Have a good one!

Thanks,
Tanys

Well you know what they say about Dog spelled backwards...

Obviously, the interpretation of those stories did not meet the maker's pleasure.

Do tell how you like the Magic Bullet! Is it any different than using a mini blender/food processor?

Praying for your mother and Blaine.

We have the same book that Keith got from a door-to-door salesman. Daisy hasn't destroyed too much yet. Except Duke's ego!

My Pug has been chewing assorted shoes recently, except he hasn't touched any of my hubby's. The kids and I put our shoes in a basket by the door as soon as we enter the house, and my husband just tromps through the house with his shoes on, a flagrant violation of house rules. The "shoe basket" happens to look a lot like the dog's "toy basket", and I think the Pug got bored with his toys and thought that we got him a new basket full of great smelling toys. I've moved the shoe basket behind a gate (we keep several rooms gated off b/c of our excessively large menagerie) and the problem appears to be solved.

I must admit... I'm not a dog person, so I don't have a lot of experience with dogs. But holy moly, I've never seen two dogs chew up as many things as these two. It's really amazing. Surely they have broken some kind of record...

Claire in Indiana, I don't think he's as into The Word as The Word is in him. :)
