We are Obviously Clueless

Scene: Dinner at a restaurant

Kendrie: I need to go use the bathroom.

Kristie: You just went to the bathroom.

Kendrie: I know. I need to go again.

Kristie: Can’t you hold it?

Kendrie: No, I need to go now.

Blaine: Now? Right now? I just took you five minutes ago.

Kendrie: Dad. I have a platter problem!

Well that perked up my Sunday morning. I understand its Labour / Labor day weekend in the USA. I hope you have a good one...I'm now going to Wikipedia to find out what it is! Love and prayers to you all.

Wow. That's quite a full explanation in Wiki...kind of like our Bank Holiday. Enjoy!

Hilarious! Grace (my 5yo) is the same exact way. We walk into a place and the first words out of her mouth are "I need to go to the bathroom". We could have just left the house with her just getting off the toilet. I swear she has an obession with public restrooms...

I love reading kids comments. It just tickles me to hear what kids think and the little things that they think they know!

I know what you mean - my kids have the need to view every bathroom in every public building we go into... it must be because when I was pregnant with them, I had to visit every bathroom! Oh well - hope her "platter" problems get better!

I'll never forget my oldest daughter Jess, who had an obsession with public bathrooms. Not only would she insist on going, she would stay 'on the pot' for a long, long, time. Basically locking the door and then not getting off the potty. Very frustrating y'all.(She was about 3.5 years old.) One time on a road trip, after many warnings not to linger on the toilet, Jess decided to use the public bathroom at a rest stop in the middle of nowhere in Canada. A greyhound bus pulled up FULL of elderly women who probably were on diuretics for their high blood pressure. Of course Jess wouldn't budge off the toilet, and refused to listen to me telling her to flush and come out, and the ladies were getting ancy, angry, and terrified of peeing themselves..I finally had to threaten Jess with a spanking (had never spanked her in her life) to get her to get off the toilet. The ladies by now were furious, telling me that they were'nt going to 'make it, if your child does not get of the toilet NOW etc'... . It was the last straw not to mention extremely embarrassing. I came down (verbally) like a ton of bricks and said that this behavior was not to continue...seems like I finally got through to her and she made her visits short thereafter...when we exited the bathroom we had to pass by about 30 elderly women, none of whom were smiling....

Out of the mouthes of babes....

My son once said after a big meal, "Oh I've got to let my food die down" but what he meant was digest! We still laugh about that one and it's been a few years. He is 7 1/2 now. About 3 months ago, after supper, my son wanted my husband to play football, and my husband said he needed to let his food digest first. After a few minutes, my son asked my husband, "Dad, is your food dead yet?" (Another reference to his food dying down).
