Mind-Bender Monday

This weekend I was listening to the "Top 40" playlist I have set up on my ipod, and coincidentally, the following two songs played in a row:

"Dreams" by Van Halen
"Jump" by Van Halen

Clearly, that bodes the earth-shattering, thought-provoking, burning, deep, philosophical question for Mind-Bender Monday:

David Lee Roth, or Sammy Hagar?

And why???

Uh, is the answer "none of the above" available. I'm not a fan of seeing either of these two guys...too much big hair, too tight leather pants. Now I don't mind listening to hem. Not at all. In fact I would venture to say that I could listen to the DLR Van Halen or the SH Van Halen. I just don't want to see wither guy.

Sammy Hagar-saw him live with Van Halen once and he was phenomenal! His vocals are seriously better than Dave's.

Oh heck, this is like an Ohio Achievement Test question.

Which one is your favorite and why???

I just can't DEAL with them anymore!

(neither one is very appealing to me...just not a VH fan here, sorry)

If I have to choose (and, really, I'd rather choose neither) I'll have to go with David Lee. He's the one with whom they had their best hits.

I'd go with David Lee Roth. Just heard a few days ago that he and Van Halen are trying to reunite for a concert or possible tour.

I am so out of the loop, I didn't even know there was a David Lee Roth OR a Sammy Hagar Van Halen. Sorry I can't vote. Interesting question though. I should ask my brother, he is a VH fan.

I can not choose...although, I once had a dream about David Lee Roth.

DLR for sure!!! Saw the reunion concert in OKC last year and DLR is the one and only, almost as good as '84!

Sammy Hagar, definitely Sammy Hagar. I just like him more; better vocals, I think. Now, if we were going to go strictly looks? Jon Bon Jovi. Then and now. Whoa. :)

Justin says David Lee Roth is the ONLY lead singer for Van Halen (he went to concert last year). With Sammy Hagar they are just "Van Hagar"..........as for me, I would have to agree. They were at their best with David Lee Roth.

Sorry - guess I'm in the wrong generation to answer. I'm still asking "temps" (the temptations) or 4 tops (another soul group).....

David Lee Roth WAS Van Halen! No one could screech or dance like him. The band was fun and the sound was distinct when he was around. Sammy was a poor substitute.

I liked Sammy Hagar as Sammy Hagar, NOT as a replacement for DLR. Van Halen was only Van Halen with DLR.

I'm for Van Hagar!

DLR without a doubt - they were never better.
