Raindrops on Roses and Girls in White Dresses

Really, Julie Andrews is pretty much the antidote for anything, isn't she? This might be old news to some of you, but Blaine and I just discovered it and have watched it at least ten times today. I don't care if you're feeling a little blue, you can't help but watch this and smile.

And if I'm ever in a train station and somebody busts out with this, it will be pretty much the best day of my life.

Julie Andrews in a Train Station.

Life should be like that. I've always felt that way. We had an impromptu singing and dancing of John Deere Green in the hallway at church one afternoon a few weeks ago...quite random, but also quite special. It's too bad people can't cut loose like that all the time. I think the world would be a happier place and that we would all feel more connected. Thanks for sharing :)

I love this-- I've seen it before but I watched again because it makes me smile. How could it not?

I love the guys wearing suits and older women that you wouldn't expect to be in a flash mob.

Thanks for sharing that video...made me smile and I need that after this past week.

Hugs,

Being there to witness it would be so cool- but I would just LOVE to take part in something like this.
I am thinking that all of us mom's should do it for the before school thing on friday morning. Then afterward act all like "what?"
This made my day. Glad Jay moved the computer so I could see it this morning!

I've seen this one, but have watched it many times. How fun would that be to be one of those dancers and then to watch the faces of the other people?!? Oh, and The Sound of Music is my all time favorite movie!!

I love this video. I wish people would feel free to break out like that more often!

Gosh, I've loved the Sound of Music since I was a kid. Eeven my husband likes it and he hates musicals. This was great.

For some reason, I flashed back to the scene in the Full Monty where the guys are in the unemployment line and Hot Stuff comes on. Maybe you have to see the movie to fully appreciate it, but here it is.

I live a sheltered life. I've never seen anything like this before. I LOVED it! I watched it several times. How amazing would it be to have been in the train station when that happened! I loved seeing people at the beginning, sort of looking around, watching what was going on, then later on, joining in. Thanks for posting this!

That is a good one! I've seen a couple of different ones. Apparently they must have some GIGANTIC and well diversed "dance groups" in Europe to put these things together.

I also like this one...

I'm the dork that would have thought it was spontaneous and attempted to blunder through the moves to join in, completely uninvited/unwanted... ;)

This video makes me smile. :)

This clip is lovely. There's a bit of a craze in Western Europe these days to arrange impromptu dance and sing songs in public places. I think we need more occasions to sing.

I was very sorry to read that Blaine has lost his job. Sigh it doesn't make any sense. If it makes you feel any better so many good people I know have been let go from their jobs these past 12 months and my own work (animation) is patchy. I really hope he gets the job that is offered to him on the base and that it is a job worthy of his skills.

To continue the Julie Andrews theme, I really hope that as one door closes, another one opens...and that what you find on the other side is a fantastic adventure for you all. My best wishes from the other side of the pond.
