I almost forgot

.... to let you guys know (ie, use this as a vapid excuse to SHOW YOU) the final set of basketball pictures I took of my nephew's team. By the end of the season, I really felt like was starting to get the hang of my new lens. Had I not been such a tightwad and waited until there were only two games left, I could have bought the lens earlier, gotten more practice, and actually improved tons more. Make no mistake, Sports Illustrated is in no way beating down my door. But at least now, if the coach uses the photos in his end-of-season slide show, I won't be embarrassed to face the parents later.

Kristie,
The pictures are AWESOME!! And how nice that both teams' colors coordinated so well for the pics...

Good job!

Nice pictures!!! I love the color and clarity of each one. I love taking pictures of our indoor soccer team but I never seem to get that "perfect" shot. These are really good. Carrie/Milwaukee

Those are really great pictures. You must have a slick camera to get those in action shots. I'm always attempting but my camera is too slow.

Love the colors!!! What lens did you buy again. Might have to consider it for my relatively new Nikon.

Absolutely splendid photos! Tremendous improvement over your original ones. It can't just be the lens that gets the credit - you must have learned a thing or two also.

Praying lots for Blaine and the Escoes.

Amazing photos!!!!! I'm giggling because they remind me of neon tetras. Go ahead....look 'em up. But I'm SO impressed with your skill! Okay...jealous. There. I said it.

I'm a longtime lurker from back in your caringbridge days.. but just had to compliment you on your photos.. especially the top one. Just how did you get that kid to hold the ball with the Wilson logo just so? That should be an ad for them!

Anyhow... you are an amazing family and my thoughts and prayers go out to you all.

Great pictures, Kristie! And it gives me hope to see how you've worked through it and figured out what you need to do to achieve the process you need. I just (today..yes, I am excited) got a Canon Rebel XSi. Did I mention that I'm excited? But even the "pocket guide" would baffle a rocket scientist, so it's going to take time and patience. Thanks for being so open about the challenges and frustrations you've faced; it helps me to know that I'm not the Lone Ranger! :<)

Holy Shamoly-- Those are the awesomest pics ever! What lens did you use? You need to do some paid photography. You definately have the talent to know just when to snap the shutter!

These pictures are fabulous! I'm sure the parents will be clamoring to have such a great shot of their child! The colours and clarity plus the great action shot you captured really tell the story!

Seriously I've been blown away! I only wish someone like yourself had taken photos like that when my son was in sports. So much better than the requisite team photo!
