Spring in Oklahoma

Yes, the thermostat might actually say fifty degrees, and in some parts of the country ... you know, parts of the country where the wind doesn't blow in from the north off the lake next to the soccer fields at a face-pelting 40 miles per hour ... those other parts of the country where that *doesn't* happen, might technically be balmy and nice.

But here?

Here, it is STINKING COLD.

And so eventually, you will ask your mother to go to the van and get your sweatshirt, because even though you think it's uncool to play with a sweatshirt under your uniform, you will be forced to acknowledge that if your arms freeze and fall off your body, it will be much more difficult to keep your balance when you dribble the ball. Last time we checked, there weren't any armless people in the National Pro Soccer League.

We're happy to be home, but DANG we miss the weather in Georgia this time of year!

If it makes you feel better, we are having record low temps tonight here in Georgia! It's pretty darn cold right now, and I actually had to turn on the heat! The heater in the middle of April!!! Can you believe it?

We broke a record low here yesterday. It was COLD in the morning! And while it did warm up yesterday afternoon, I could feel cold burst of air as I was riding my bike. Brrrr!

Just for the record (and I see some others have already mentioned this) Sat. at my kid's soccer game it was in the low 50's, cloudy (spitting rain - not full out raining) and REALLY windy. Then it got colder for the next couple of days. Today (Tuesday - Tax Deadline day) we're supposed to have a high of 59-61. So Georgia - yeh, not so much this month.

Last Monday, we got two inches of snow. On Saturday it was 75. I fertilized the lawn and enjoyed the warm. Glad I did. It snowed again last night. It's supposed to be 60 tomorrow.

I just love Oregon in the spring.

Hi Kristi!
I've left a couple of comments before, but for the most part, I've just been a lurker. However, I have thoroughly enjoyed reading your blog for the last year or so, so much so that you've inspirired me to try and start my own blog. Wish me luck!

PS I do hope you will continue with your surrogacy story soon. Screw those people who leave rude comments about it - they obviously just have too much time on their hands! (Oh what I could get done if I had that much time on my hands!)
PPS Up here in MN, it is supposed to be 65 degrees, however, the 45MPH winds may make it feel just a wee bit colder than that!

Love it - the soccer ball AND the uniform match! As for cold, ditto for up here - I want to go back to Georgia too, and I've never even lived there in the first place. Or, better yet - Florida!!!! Shorts! Sun-screen! Flip-flops! Sun glasses! Walt Disney World! Sigh....I need a vacation.....

Ummmm yea - here in GA - the high was 80 on Friday, 60 on Saturday and 40 on Sunday. Today the winds are blowing at 30 mph and its in the 50's. Its pretty dang cold here too!

Oh poor Kendrie! Here in Hawaii its warm but we are having a crisis with the VOG - the sulfuric acid and the other 'stuff' which comes out of the volcano on our Island and envelopes us with a dense, cloudy-like blanket. The trade winds have been quiet so nothing is being blown away. We now have VOG warnings, color coded even. The VOG causes respiratory symptoms. It can actually sting your skin if you are right up close to the volcanic area. Not to mention wreaking havoc with one's contact lenses..I think right about now I'd prefer a clean, cold wind coming from across a lake :)...

Coming out of lurkdom (I love your blog btw) to tell you that here in sunny Alpharetta, GA our high is 59. Last night it was in the 20's. I love cold weather but come the hell on!! Cold day filled with pollen is just cruel.

Kristie... honey... we're having a freeze warning tonight. And on Sunday, the wind blew hard enough to knock down a pine in my backyard and to knock one of the shutters off the house.

I got no sympathy for ya... sorry. :) (And apparently no correct grammar, either.)

I am getting sick of the wind here in Oklahoma City! I can't go outside without feeling like I'm going to be blown away.

Our soccer games got SNOWED out on Saturday...SNOWED OUT! And then yesterday (Tuesday) I sat at my son's track meet, it was 81 degrees and I got sunburned. That's Nebraska for ya!!
