Our drive-off date is November 18th. It would have been November 16th, right after the kids finish their last day of school here in Georgia, but Kellen and Kendrie both have their final soccer game of the season on the 17th, and their end-of-season soccer parties, and what kind of parents would we be to deprive them of such important, monumental, fun-filled events in their lives? It’s all about the trophy, baby.
Regarding the move, the left side of my brain is all ….., oh, la-dee-dah ….. no worries. We’re not leaving until the week of Thanksgiving, which everyone knows is the last week in November, which means it’s practically December, which everyone knows is the last month of the year, and the end of the year is so far away from now that it feels like it’s never really going to get here so what does it matter if we haven’t heard from our movers or done one single thing to get ready? We have loads of time …. Loads --- AGES. Practically months left.
The right side of my brain is all ….. holy crap! Sure, we’re not driving off until the 18th of November, but there are only two full weeks in November before that, and the movers are coming one of those weeks, which means we’ve only got one full week of November left before we move, and TOMORROW is November for goodness sake, which means basically, we are moving in a few days and I haven’t heard from the movers and I don’t have anything ready and WHY HAVEN’T I HEARD FROM MY MOVERS???? THEY WILL BE HERE ANY MINUTE!
It’s official. Pre-Move Panic has set in.

PS. Regarding last night's Dancing With The Stars Elimination Show ... I won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't watched it yet, but I only have one thing to say ---------------------------- THE HELL??????????????????

We moved from TX to CO at Thanksgiving with a long stop due to a van breakdown. Probably kept us from getting really sick because there was nothing to do so LaRae watched cable TV and we napped at the hotel!
You can do guilt-free abbreviated Christmas decorations. We had a family list of what was most important and that's what we put out. Tree with lights and stockings...both revolve around gifts so no surprise. We even had my parents there that year. The simplicity was kind of nice and thanks to Mom, my Christmas cards were out the day after Christmas instead of New Years.
It always seems to come together at both ends...now if I could find the shelves to my desk and my salad forks. :+)
Hugs,
I still can't believe you're leaving...I still remember that time my sister and I came over and scrapped with you at your house. You just can't leave!
And as for last night's DWTS, holy heck! That is just NOT RIGHT! I demand a recount!
My family and I are going to be moving in the next couple of weeks. We are only moving across the road from where we live now but I still anticipate it will be a lot of work. I am hoping for the move to be as uneventful as possible. Any advice???
Please let us know what we can do to ease your transition back to the city. We're not going anywhere for Thanksgiving and can certainly schlepp (sp?) boxes or enteratin the kids while you do. Looking forward to having you back!!!
Love,
Stacey et all
I agree with the Dancing kick off! I think people didn't vote because they thought she was safe.
All I can say about the move is it will get done. You will be in the road even if it is a stressful couple of weeks. It will be over!
Wow! The move will be here before you know it. I'm glad you are letting the kids stay for their last soccer games and end of the season parties.
I didn't watch Dancing with the Stars last night, but I heard on the radio this morning. I was shocked. Reality shows are throwing me for a loop this week!
Briana
Wow Kristie--- Thanks for giving me a reality check. We are moving at the end of November too--- Crap--- we are moving at the end of November and have done no packing!!!!! Yeah, I so totally know how you feel!!!!

I was devastated last night when Sabrina got voted off even tho' she wasn't my personal fav.
I don't know about you but Jane Seymour is REALLY getting under my skin! Hmmmm food poisioning I don't think so. I think she thought she was going last night and didn't want to be there. Haven't liked her since she argued with the judges.
Good Luck on the move! Judging from how organized you blog and how many activities you juggle with your kids, self etc. I'm sure you are really totally organized and ready to go!

We're moving from Phoenix to Atlanta this Friday and it still doesn't feel like it's actually happening. I sit here and then think, "Oh yeah, we're driving across country in two days." Thank goodness the movers are packing up the majority of our stuff for us because I haven't done a thing ... except clean so they aren't horrified when they come in here. lol.
Last August I moved myself from Texas back to Oregon. I packed for weeks in advance and enjoyed the few days off between packing the truck and unpacking the truck into the rental house. This August I moved into my newly built home, a grand total of four miles away. I had movers, but I packed everything. It was pure and absolute hell. I don't plan to move again for a really, really long time.
My advice. Number boxes based on importance, move your computers yourself, buy the tape with room labels for your boxes, and hire someone else to clean the old house!!! That was the best $100 I spent the whole move.
1st - November 18th is one of my favorite days of the year...(my birthday but its not quite as exciting as it use to be for some reason)... good luck getting packed
#2 - I have only one thing to say about Dancing with the Stars and that is WTF??!! How do you send Sabrina home and keep Marie or Jane? Neither one can dance like she does!

I really wanted Cameron and Edyta to get kicked off, I don't know why, but I really cannot stand Edyta. It's probably jealousy, she's so hot, I'm so...not. My favorite is Marie and Jonathan. I absolutely LOVE Marie Osmond! I look and her and just lots of memories watching the Donnie and Marie show with my family! I hope she wins, even if she doesn't dance as good as some of the others.
I hope your move goes well, don't worry, you'll get it all done. My family did a cross country move a while back, it was very difficult, and of course I was in charge of everything, but I did get it done.
Have a great day!
I feel ya Kristie! We are moving to Scotland on November 30th. I still have not done much. Now that you have brought it up, I am totally panicing!! AUGGGHH!!! :-)
OH...I AM SO ENVIOUS. I wish we were moving "home" to Sooner land! I wish you the best few weeks you could have preparing to make this transition. Enjoy!
